Recently I felt God showing me how he wants me to live an even closer life to Him.

I started praying and what He showed me was this:

Normally we live our lives as Christians and we consider than when we sin we need to go to God and repent. Then, do some kind of sacrifice and just after we’ve done that we’re holy again.

I was praying to God giving Him thanks for His mercy and at that point I felt like I was so in debt to Him for his forgiveness that I would do whatever He’d ask me to.

Then His answer came…

The reality is that we were sinners and He decided to send His Son here so that our sins could be washed away, His blood saved our lives and set us free, but we were born with a sinful nature, therefore as His blood cleaned us, our attitude of thanks cannot be a one time thing. We are not to go to God; we’re to abide in Him. We’re not to ask for forgiveness; we’re to live conscious that we’ve been forgiven and we don’t have to do any kind of sacrifice, but to be a living sacrifice, as an attitude of thanksgiving.

I know that this entire living sacrifice thing sounds a lot familiar to you guys, and it’s the same to me. Now trust me, it sounds a lot different when Jesus himself explains it to you.
